Yes, I think you are being highly offensive and yelling out opinions rather than stating them calmly does not come across as intelligent debate. You are asking a valid question, but Im not going to listen to someone who screams it at me. I also think you are a being hypocritical for supposedly being religious and taking the lords name in vein.

Edited because I was a little frustrated when I wrote this the first time and was too accusing

Shortie,

1.) I am not offended by anyone's post. Except Felicity_Fans's, but I feel much better after, for once, getting all those icky feelings outta my stomach. I think you're the one who's offended by my post.

2.) I was not yelling at you. In fact, I was in a very calm mood when I posted a reply to your first post.

3.) I'm just 13. Am I supposed to be a hypocrite for supposedly being religious or whatever it was you said?

4.) "Good Lord Jesus" is not taking the Lord's name in vain. But if it makes you feel better, I'll say this, "Jesus, Mary, Joseph." My Mom's friend says this all the time and it's not a bad word, now is it?

5.) Oh, yeah, and about that "intelligent" stuff you mentioned; How could I NOT be intelligent for memorizing almost all of the countries's capitals? You can name any country and I know its capital.

Ahhhh....you are only 13. That explains a lot. Never mind then. Im not going to bother debating with you.

Just one thing you should know about message boards that dont censor; If you have the right be offended by someone's post then I have all the right to be offended by the attitude in yours.

Hi, I agree with you and will not be purchasing form AG, at least until they end all partnerhsip with Girls Inc.

I take part in pro-life causes because I believe it is wrong to kill innocent babies NOMATTER WHAT. As hard as a situation may be, the baby should not be the one punished.

I am glad there's a board like this, I really like the other board a lot, but I like being able to debate just a little bit

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">If a girl is raped and gets pregnant, that was not her intention to let that happen. what if she is 13 when it happens? Was she not innocent? that is a certainly a good excuse. I don't like the fact that those babies get killed. I'm just saying that there are certain situations in which it might be the better choice. and no! I am not nuts!!!! I never said I believed in it.

no innocent person should be murdered. But will that stop people from using the death penalty? no- it'll still be continued to be used, even if innocent people are claimed to be guilty and die because of it.

I have to say, a 13 yr old girl having such a thing happen to her is horrible and incredibly tragic. Unfortunately, abortion isn't really the answer. It's just another tragic thing! Most 13 year olds are not old enough to understand the long-term consequences of such an action. The increased risk of breast cancer, the chance of being infertile for life, the psychological trama of knowing you've killed your own child...the list goes on and on!

However, I have seen teenagers give up babies for adoption, and the results can be VERY healing! Picture placing a newborn in the arms of an eternally grateful and infertile woman! It's a beautiful miracle!

The biggest problem I have with the rape argument, though, is the percentage of abortions that are on teenage rape victims is tiny. Unfortunately, for many young women, abortion is just another form of birth control.

Honestly, I think abortion is just another sign of the selfishness in this country. Instead of reaching out to help young women who are scared and hurting, it's easier to say, "Get rid of the evidence and everything will be fine again!" We are not really willing to give them the time and money they need. So we sell them an abortion and expect them to go away and act as if nothing important has happened. What they need is love, support, and practical help! If we helped them find good homes for their babies, or provided them with job assistance to help them raise their kids, maybe abortion wouldn't be such an attactive alternative to birth control!

BTW, I would bet the number of innocent people killed by the death penalty is exponentially smaller than the number of innocent babies killed each year by their mothers.
Just my 2 cents.

I have absolutely no problem with anyone who is gay or a lesbian. I have an uncle who is gay, and he is very very nice and I love him just the same as I would if he were not gay. I say it's there choice what they want to do, and people shouldn't discriminate because they are a little "different."

Also, I do not really "support" abortion, but like Felicity_Fan, I believe that there are some situations in which an abortion might be the "best" choice for the woman (or girl) carrying the child.

I think everyone should know that the donations that American Girl makes to Girls, Inc. is ONLY funding their academics and athletics programs. It has absolutely nothing to do with anything else Girls, Inc. is involved in. And I fully intend on buying a few of the I CAN bands.

And about the rules of this board, I think that if people are allowed to debate, they should at least debate civilly. If everyone is going to be posting willy-nilly things that are extremely offensive to others, then I agree that this board is going to get VERY out of control VERY soon. I will probably post here occasionally, but only very occasionally. I think I would prefer to stick with the American Girl Fans Message board, as it is purely fun, and boards like this tend to end up infuriating me.

I'll continue buying from American Girl. I support the Girls Inc. programs in leadership, academics and athleticism that proceeds from the I Can band are funding. If I didn't, I would simply not buy the bands. That way, my money would not go toward causes that I don't support.

And yes, I am pro-gay rights. I feel that there's not enough love in this world as it is. Why disparage love between two consenting adults? I don't poke my nose into my neighbor's bedroom and critique their heterosexual love life. Homosexuals deserve the same privacy.

I also believe that a woman has a right to an abortion if she so desires. I do not consider a fetus to be alive until it is of an age where it can live on its own outside a woman's body, which is the third trimester. Far too many women are pressured by society into having babies that they are unable or unwilling to provide proper care for. As a result, these children are subjected to lives filled with abuse, want and suffering. I wouldn't wish that kind of existance on my worst enemy. Many of these children end up in foster care, which only perpetuates the feeling that they are unwanted. And while adoption may seem like an ideal choice, it still requires a woman to go through nine months of pregnancy. Nine months is a long time, and who is to say that she will choose to avoid smoking, alcohol, drugs and all the other things that can irreparably damage a child? And how is it that some adoptive families are allowed to adopt 8 or 9 children and keep them in cages, as an adoptive family in Cleveland did? Until more screening and controls are placed on the adoption process, it is hardly an ideal choice. Personally, I don't know that I could live with myself if I gave my child away, only to find that they had been abused by the "eternally grateful" person(s) who adopted them.

And, while I'm playing Devil's advocate, would the anti-choice people on this board still be OK with adoption if it was done by a gay couple?
